Who we are

EcoAção Brasil (formerly Comunidade EcoAção in Brazil) is an independent organization aligned with the 11th Goal of the UN Agenda 2030, promoting the development of sustainable cities and communities. Our mission is to use technology to solve environmental challenges and transform the relationship between humanity and the environment.

Our Objectives

Our objectives as a socio-environmental initiative reinforce our mission to combine technology and innovation in order to not only create a positive impact, but also generate even more change. They are divided into six principles:

Acting locally to generate change

Encouraging sustainable habits, such as the correct separation of waste, the afforestation of urban spaces and the adoption of ecological measures in everyday life.

Innovating to generate change

Applying technology and Artificial Intelligence to develop effective environmental solutions, increasing the positive impact on society and the ecosystem.

Educating to generate change

Promoting environmental education in partnership with schools, training students and their communities to become active agents of sustainability.

Pressuring and monitoring to generate change

Working with the municipal government to implement recycling policies, waste separation and sustainable initiatives, ensuring transparency and environmental responsibility.

Unite to generate change

Engage citizens, NGOs and local entrepreneurs in the environmental cause, promoting events, workshops and awareness campaigns.

Regenerate to generate change

Restore degraded areas through urban reforestation, water conservation and biodiversity recovery in cities.

IA EcAção

EcoAction Brazil proposes as a solution to this challenge of urban heat islands the emergent power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), adding precision, reliability, and conciseness to the work of mitigating Hyperlocalized Urban Heat Islands (UHI).

    Through open-source satellite images and data, EcoAção seeks to develop an AI model capable of accurately identifying strategic points for urban tree planting—considering corridors and green roofs, urban agriculture, and conservation areas as possibilities.

    By leveraging Machine Learning along with temporal analysis and urbanization rates, EcoAção enables the prediction of where new heat concentrations are likely to emerge in the coming years and estimates the expansion of existing ones.

    This will allow various institutions to act preventively, preventing this environmental challenge from reaching even more concerning proportions in the future.
